TAZANIA : Zanzibar University and Sumait University scholarship
There are two universities in Tanzania, Zanzibar: namely Zanzibar University and Sumait University which are both accredited by the Tanzania Commission for Universities. Over 250 students have graduated from Zanzibar University under the scholarship of IZF. At Sumait University, over 50 are now professional Secondary School Teachers and Administrators. In 2017/2018 academic year we have 89 continuing students (59 Male and 30 Female) at Zanzibar University and 6 students (all male) at Sumait University. We expect 58 students to finish their studies by August 2018 at Zanzibar University, and 2 students from Sumait University
Zanzibar University is another international University where IZF sends students to study different professional courses. Many students who have graduated from this private institution are enjoying good work in Malawi. The graduates are employed in government as well as private sector with IZF started sending students to Zanzibar early in 1999. As at today, more than 250 have graduated from this institution. They are supporting their families as well as others. Majority of our sponsored students at Zanzibar are core figures of ZUMGA (Zanzibar University Muslim Graduates Association), who have achieved a lot in Malawi. The average annual cost of sponsoring a student at Zanzibar is $3,500. In 2017/2018 academic year. we have 89 students continuing (59 Male and 30 Female) at Zanzibar University We expect 58 students to complete their studies by August 2018 at Zanzibar University, of which below are the details.
Formerly known as University College of Zanzibar. Currently we have 6 students studying degree courses in Education at this University. Over 30 students have graduated from this school with degree in Education. Some are even head teachers in Secondary schools. In 2017/2018 academic year we have 6 students (all male) at Sumait University. We are expecting 2 students to complete their studies from Sumait University by August 2018
Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU)
We used to support many students in Uganda, but recently the number was reduced. Over 100 students have graduated from Islamic University in Uganda under the scholarship of IZF. The graduates are professionals in different fields who are notable figures in Malawi. Below is the summary of fields the graduates studied. In addition, we still support some few students with tuition fees only.
